Kosala Kulasekara is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who was born on 12th July 1982 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. He was a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a right-handed batsman. He made his debut in first-class cricket for Kandy Youth Cricket Club in 2002-03 and went on to play for various teams including Sinhalese Sports Club, Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club, and Colts Cricket Club.
Kulasekara made his international debut for Sri Lanka in an ODI against Bangladesh in 2003 and went on to play 21 ODIs and 2 T20Is for his country. He was included in Sri Lanka's squad for the 2011 World Cup but did not get to play any matches.
Kulasekara is best remembered for his impressive performance during the ICC World Twenty20 2014 tournament where he was the leading wicket-taker for Sri Lanka with 7 wickets in 6 matches. He was part of the Sri Lankan team that won the tournament, which was the first major ICC trophy for Sri Lanka since their 1996 World Cup victory.
He retired from international cricket in 2016 and played his last first-class cricket match for Colts Cricket Club in 2017. Currently, Kulasekara serves as a bowling coach for the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club.
